Awful Falafel

History

Awful Falafel is comprised of Dave and Maria Shaffer. The group officially began in 2017, but we have known each other for much longer. We met at Mansfield University where we both studied music. We got our start playing together at a Relay For Life in Selinsgrove, PA in 2010, and played music at weddings for several friends throughout the 2010s before deciding to finally give ourselves a name and proactively book shows.

Musical Style

Performance-wise, we focus on tight vocal harmonies while musically we try to choose selections of songs everyone can enjoy throughout the show. We particularly enjoy 70's and 80's pop, 90's country, and current pop music. We both play guitar and sing lead and harmony vocals. Occasionally a kazoo is involved.

Equipment

We play Yamaha and Taylor guitars and we use Line 6 pedals.
